HOW
IS PERMANENT MAKE-UP APPLIED?
Color is placed under the skin with a specialized instrument
designed for the delicate thin skin of the face.
Since 1993 Tina has perfected her own unique method of
applying permanent make-up. This method has proved to be the safest,
most comfortable and longest lasting available. Before anything is applied
permanently, washable make-up is put on first and agreement is reached
on the color, shape and technique to be used for that procedure.
HOW
LONG DOES PERMANENT MAKE-UP LAST?
The majority of the people will hold the color without
changing for their whole life. A very small percentage will soften the
color very slowly over several years, needing a minor touch-up every
2 to 5 years.
CAN
THE COLOR BE CHANGED?
If after awhile you decide that you want to thicken,
darken, or change the color of your make-up, Tina is one of the very
few artist that can change color that has been permanently placed. For
example, a client has changed the color of her hair and wants to have
her eyebrows, that have been applied permanently, match her new hair
color. Tina will modify the color of the eyebrows to better suit the
clients needs.
DOES
IT HURT?
Most people are pleasantly surprised that there is almost
no pain. Most clients describe the experience as a tingling feeling
or strong vibration. Tina uses a prescription topical cream that numbs
the skin. If at any time the client starts to feel any discomfort more
anesthetic is applied.
CAN
REGULAR MAKE-UP BE WORN OVER THE PERMANENT COLOR?
Yes, because the color is placed under the skin, any
personal make-up that you want to wear on top of the permanent make-up
is fine. The great thing about permanent make-up is that you always
have the appearance of just having put your make-up on.
WHAT
IS A TOUCH-UP?
Sometimes, after the first procedure and sometimes a
few years later on, a client will decide that she wants a spot in the
lashline or any area that she feels needs a little more color, to return
for a touch-up. Tina includes a free touch-up for every full priced procedure. Tina
wants her work to look as perfect as is possible and for every client
to be completely satisfied. A FOLLOW-UP is desired by Tina for every
client as well so that Tina can evaluate for herself that the work is
up to her own high standards. A photograph of before and after are often
taken, with the clients permission, to document the change.
WHAT
TYPES OF PERMANENT COSMETIC PROCEDURES CAN BE DONE?
Permanent cosmetic procedures can be very subtle or
dramatic depending on the look you are going for. Options include: Eyeliner,
Eyebrows (fill in or hair stroke), Lip Liner, or Full Lip Color, Scar
camouflage, blush, and eye shadow.
IS
IT SAFE?
Tina’s extensive experience as a surgical registered
nurse is your reassurance that she is very well apprised of proper sanitary
conditions for performing these procedures. Tina uses disposable instruments
that are used only once on that client including pigments and the cups
that hold them. Each time a client returns for a procedure brand new
equipment and product is used.
WHO BENEFITS FROM PERMANENT COSMETIC MAKE-UP?
EVERYONE, from the young to the elderly, who desires
a soft, natural enhancement to their appearance. It is especially beneficial
to people who can’t were traditional, topical cosmetics due to
allergies and skin sensitivities. Active people who want to look their
best while swimming, hiking, biking, tennis, aerobics, and those who
don’t want to worry about “sweating off” or reapplying
cosmetics. Also, the vision impaired who have difficulty applying cosmetics,
and others with motor impairments such as arthritis, Parkinson’s
disease, multiple sclerosis, stroke survivors, and those with unsteady
hands who cannot apply their own make-up. Professional, busy people
who don’t have the time to spend on their make-up enjoy the convenience
of permanent cosmetics. Alopecia sufferers can benefit from the application
of permanent make-up. Permanent make-up once only available to celebrities
and the very wealthy can now be enjoyed by all including certain procedures
like scar camouflage for men. Any woman who wants to improve her appearance
and have the convenience of eyebrows, eyeliner, and lip color that won’t
smear, smudge or rub off can enjoy the benefits of permanent make-up.
CAN
I STILL HAVE AN MRI?
Numerous
studies have shown that there is little to no potential for irritation
resulting from an MRI. Tina, after a lot or research, discovered a company
that makes pigments that were designed just for permanent cosmetics
procedures. These pigments were designed to be true in color, not change
under the skin, and especially contain no iron oxides that most other
pigments on the market have in them. It is the iron in the iron oxide
that concerns the radiologist about performing a procedure using magnets.
WHAT
IF I HAVE FEVER BLISTERS ?
Any
client who wants to have their lips worked on and has any history of
fever blisters or cold sores, needs to take a prescription medication
for a 5 days after the procedure. Tina is able to call in the medicine for you at
no additional charge.
